On loading (icon) restore page

To get your bug fixed faster please try to answer the following questions:

Which browser, operating system and versions of those are you using?
brave,windwos
What are the steps you took that lead to the bug?
as Auto rate loading in progress bar when restoring
was using it (refreshing page to check the progress) but at the end of the progress (maybe) show loading
at options.html#/backup
and when checking

Update:
after checking maybe not fisnished and still show loading so
what to do after waiting for more than 24H
Update2:
look like not just in backup page, it’s on dashboard too with same error.

it’s not happen in the same time so not possible to be in the same ti and i belive each one has it’s issues like this happen when reached the end of restoring and (maybe finished) so not sure, even maybe the progress still in background so don’t want to west long time of waiting restore of data if u know way to check if the progress continues or not will be great.
and still there is connecting between then and others don’t

I think both bugs are very much connected. (and yes its a bug).
It failed at some point and didnt progress. thats why you are waiting for so long. With 1.7gb. restore should take max 2h.

it seems as potentially an empty item is trying to be imported.

Can you search across all your backup files for something like "url": "" or just `: “”?
If you find it, delete that entry and try importing again.

If it still does not work, are you down if we do a video call together so we can go through some troubleshooting together?

I try to stop browser and restart explorer and stop memex backup and checking service (task manager) of them was no sign and disable extension
so still the same issue, even after signed out or reboot PC
but i think this happen before and solved after reboot PC but now even rebooting still the same
and at
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default\IndexedDB
I remember the extension size was more than 400MB but now in KB.

What you can try is to shut down and delete the the memex backup helper, then unzip it again and run it again. Best to disable the extension before you start the Helper, and then enable it again (make sure to not delete it). For some users this has been reported fixing the issue.

We pushed an update to the helper app that hopefully fixes the issues.
We can’t reproduce it here so we rely on people that are affected reporting back.
